BREAKING: FG writes off N4.2bn debt for radio, TV station.
The Federal Government has decided to write off 60 per cent of the N7 bn owed by radio and television stations in licensing and renewal fees.
The government has also slashed the existing licence fee by 30 per cent for all open terrestrial radio and television services with effect from July 10 .
The Minister of Information and Culture , Lai Mohammed, disclosed these at a press conference he addressed with the acting Director- General of the National Broadcasting Commission , Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, in Abuja on Monday.
The N7 bn being owed the Federal Government by the broadcast industry is the total outstanding from television and radio stations on renewal of their operating licences.

BREAKING: Buhari bars VIPs’ aides from airport terminals
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd.) , has given an approval to the Federal Ministry of Aviation to stop all aides of public office holders and other very important personalities from gaining entry into airport terminals .
According to the Minister of Aviation , Hadi Sirika, all special assistants or personal assistants of VIP are no more allowed at airports when such persons are not travelling .
I’ll work against Akeredolu’s reelection – Ex-SSG
After the resignation of Mr Sunday Abegunde, as Secretary to the Ondo State Government , the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, appointed Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi, as replacement .
Akeredolu announced Oluwatuyi at the weekly media briefing in Akure , the state capital on Monday.
Abegunde had resigned through a letter which partly read, “ I, Hon. Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde, the Secretary to the State Government of Ondo State hereby tender my letter of resignation .
“ I want to thank Mr Governor for giving me the opportunity to serve the Government and people of Ondo State .”
BREAKING: PDP only interested in Edo treasury – Ganduje
The Chairman , All Progressives Congress National Campaign Council for the Edo State Governorship Election, Abdullahi Ganduje, has accused Governor Godwin Obaseki, of handing the treasury of the state over to the Peoples Democratic Party in his bid to win re- election.
Ganduje , who is also the Governor of Kano State , said this Abuja, shortly after the inauguration of the Edo State APC National Campaign Council at the APC National Secretariat on Monday.

BREAKING: We may propose fresh lockdown after two weeks, says task force
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Monday lamented the increasing rate of COVID- 19 cases among people in government , saying it was directly impacting on governance and security in the country.
The PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who stated this at the task force press briefing in Abuja , also said the possibility of ordering a fresh total lockdown to curtail further spread of the virus could not be ruled out.
The SGF, who advised prominent Nigerians to take COVID- 19 protocols seriously, said the virus does not respect status.
